Challenge 1: the No-Death High Score Challenge
This is a challenge common to all SMB1 and SMB3 hacks. Start a new game, and try to get as many points as possible until you lose a life, or (less likely) get past all the hacked levels. The game stops once you die, no matter how many lives are left. Warp Zones are allowed, but Retro-Warp Zones (if there are) aren't. Good luck! Submissions will be ranked by top score. You can try more than once, of course. All your submitted results (NSMs you'll submit) will be put up, with the best on top and the others below, at the appropriate ranks (at least until there are too many ranks).

Challenge 2: the Fastest Completion Challenge
This is a challenge common to most hacks, but mostly for the complete ones. In this one, try getting past all levels as fast as possible. You can lose as many lives as you want (just don't get Game Over), but not take Warp Zones. No need for a chronometer, I can calculate the exact length of the NSM by looking at its file size. Start the NSM recording right before starting the game, and stop it right after finishing. Good luck! Submissions will be ranked by top time. You can try more than once, of course. All your submitted results will be put up, with the best on top and the others below, at the appropriate ranks (at least until there are too many ranks).

Challenge 3: 3-2 Mad Dash (by WhooHooD'oh)
As SMB1 Challenge and SMB1 Revisited are very similar for the first 3 worlds, this 3-2 challenge is pretty much the same as for SMB1 Challenge, the level is only a little different. Get through the level with small Mario as fast as possible, and don't get hit!

He went through it pretty fast (there were 117 units of time left at the end), and came very close to die several times. He went past the hard parts without much trouble ...

Challenge 4: 7-2 Mad Dash (by WhooHooD'oh)
"I'd also like to suggest the same challenge for 7-2 in SMB Revisited. (Get through small, don't get killed, best time wins. Worst part here is at the end, with the long fire-stick, and the Hammer Bro that can hit you after you go in the exit pipe...)"

"I finally got around to actually doing the SMB Revisited 7-2 Mad Dash...turns out I had to wait for that last Hammer Bro to run off the staircase. Somehow, though, I still got out before the timer hit 100...in fact, I had 106 remaining and got 5000 on the flag. Sweet. :)" You'll see him dodge several fire bars, flying underwater cheep-cheeps, and hammer brothers, as well as a few other dangers.
Got an interesting challenge that isn't here? Let me know!
